High Holidays

We come together as a congregation for High Holy Day services, with only one seating for each service. Our Erev Rosh Hashanah and Kol Nidre services begin at 7:45 p.m. and our Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur morning services begin at 10:00 a.m.. Kids services (geared towards families with children ages 8 to 12) are offered at 2:30 p.m. and Family services (geared towards families with children 7 years of age and younger) are offered at 4:00 p.m. for both the first day of Rosh Hashanah and on Yom Kippur. We observe the first day of Rosh Hashanah at the shul and the second day at a local park for a family-friendly musical "Tashlich" service. We conclude with Ne'ilah (the closing service) of Yom Kippur with a congregational catered dairy break the fast meal (pre-registration required).

Tickets to High Holiday services are reserved for Shir Tikvah members only. Our membership is based on a pledge system where members pledge a "gift from the heart" of their choosing for their membership for the year.  We do not sell High Holiday tickets. If you are interested in potentially becoming a member and would like consideration for tickets, or if you are a member in good standing at a URJ affiliated synagogue out of town with a reciprocal seating request, please contact our Executive Director, Lorelei Berg at 248-649-4418 x 1 or lorelei@shirtikvah.org.
